History

The LeME has developed since 2012 by the academic team from Statistical Education Center [NEE] of the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics [IMEF] of the Federal University of Rio Grande [FURG].  LeME was initially founded by the University Extension Program of the Brazilian Ministry of Education [PROEXT/MEC/BRASIL].  It is maintained as a leading role of undergraduate students of  PET Sabest which functions as  a Captain- teachers of LeME. LeME is also supported by the studies of post-graduate students and researchers at the Laboratory of Cognitive Studies and Technologies in [LabEst], where there is a Statistical Education Research Group - FURG/CNPq, led by LeME coordinating professor. When institutionalized, LeME was recognized for contemplating issues such as Human Rights, Social Justice, Communication and Education.

 Since LeME was created, it has been developed in collaboration with  CCMar, where it started the activities and got  developed. Even though the  actions of CCMar have benefited companies, different schools and communities in the southern coastal region of Brazil, and the Federal University of Rio Grande [FURG] got the improvement through its actions.  In addition, LeME has already been implemented in other Brazilian states, and for the same reason in other countries, as well Colômbia e México.
