Terminology

The terminology of   LeME ( i.e. captain, boat) consists of receiving nautical terminology, due to the safe harbor of LeME being a Federal University located in the southern coast of Brazil:

LeME (analogy to the boats controlling device): name of Social Technology, considered the boat, which can anchor (be reapplied) at any Pier or Port, in Brazil or in any other country;

Pier: A place where  LeME is developed, it can be a school, an Event or a community;

Porto: place where  LeME is developed permanently, as is the case   [CCMar], where LeME  initially functioned, and where it is currently developed.  CCMar has also been considered a School of Sagres (supposedly a nautical school created in the 15th century), which prepares teachers to reapply LeME;

Commandants: teachers, who take command of the LeME boat and perform it at some Pier or Port;

Crew: young people and children (participants) who board on the LeME, establishing an analogy to the people who assure the operation of a boat, due to the intention of the protagonism that is expected from learners;

Expediton: When this crew and Commandants from a Pier/Port board on the LeME they make an expedition through the development of Learning Projects. During this trip they make notes in logbooks: the storms (difficulties); the beautiful landscapes (new learning); the new routes traveled, in addition to the planned expedition (innovative pedagogical strategies, created by the Commandants, in addition to enhance the Learning Projects). The crew and the Commandants are the authors of these logbooks. These notes record the development of  LeME in different contexts, Piers and Ports, which allows the permanent qualification of Social Technology, as well as the identification of the results of this action.
